American Bully
The American Bully is one of the breeds that the USA is proud to have under its wing. Sturdy, strong and intelligent, these animals are perfect companions for all sorts of people and families. These dogs can be loved by hunters and the casual owners as well as women who want to have a pet and a protector alongside.
There are no certain measures when it comes to the breed’s weight and height. The thing that matters is that they are strong built and very muscular. If the dog is 51cm in height, they need to weight around 51 kilograms as well. You can use this measure as a reference. This is, however, just the basic description of the American Bully. There are many other characteristics that make this breed as preferred by many as it is. One of these characteristics is the fur coat of the dog. It is always short and close to the skin; stiff when touched and is never matted but always glossy. If the last is not valid, then the dog might have some health issues and needs to be checked at the vet. Its head is neither short nor elongated, but rather medium sized while its skull is very large and broad. Being a strong breed, its face, similarly to its whole body, is very muscular especially in the cheek area. With longer ears than many other breeds, some owners prefer to crop them. t is not necessary, though. The breed has a possibility of droopy lips, but it is not preferred and can lead to issues at a later period of their life.
Due to the breed’s main feature, the muscularity, the American Bully needs to have specific figure. The front legs need to be wide apart, so that the chest can develop well enough; they must also be straight and not bent at any side. The back should not be arched, so that the back muscles and ribs can grow healthy and strong.
The tail of the individuals from this breed is also straight and rather short when compared to the body length of the animal.
Except for their ultimate use as a guard and protector, these animals are excellent family dogs. This is because they are playful, loyal and very outgoing animals that are affectionate and filled with gratitude. They can play with children and stay calm when petted by their owner when they return from work. Another great feature of the breed is that they have a short and easy to groom coat and don’t need too much attention. The only thing that can ruin the behaviour of this animal can be ruined only by a lack of adequate socialisation while they’re young puppies and an aggressive owner.
